Do ignorant owners get on your nerves?

I definitely know how you feel. It does bother me, I probably would have been upset when put in that situation too. I'm having a problem with my brother right now because his dog has such terrible allergies, and I think its the food he feeds him (absolute junk that's nothing but corn, harmful substances like ethoxyquin & methianone and by-products.) I have gone at it from every angle, I even offered him to buy a free bag of a grain free brand or pay for him to go to a natural vet. He just thinks I'm a kook! His poor dog is chewing his feet bloody and has an on-going ear infection because of allergies, and the ignorant vet just wants to keep giving him steroids rather than try switching the food to see if that helps. He won't listen to me because his vet says Royal Canin is the best food out there, and that dogs need grains, that high protein diets are actually bad for dogs, etc. I tried to point out that dogs don't eat corn in the wild and they didn't evolve that way, that everything in their anatomy points to them being carnivores! He actually refused the food I offered and said he won't let me kill his dog by feeding him high proteins. My dog eats this Wellness diet, and has never had better health, so it really angered me that he implied I am hurting my dog or trying to hurt his. I love the dog so so much, I really just want to kidnap him or convince my brother to give him to me so I can give him a good home. He really doesn't treat him well and its frustrating to watch the dog suffer like that. People just think I'm being pushy, snobby, etc. when I try to tell them what's in their dog food. It's really not the case, I really just love dogs so much that I want everyone's dog to be in good health and not eating garbage! It bothers me to no end that vets still promote Iams and Science Diet. Makes you wonder where they get their info from.. probably the companies!
