Was I being too pushy?

I've been talking to this guy for 3 weeks &we've been trying to set up a good time for both of us to hang out. But he works in politics so he has to travel sometimes. I've also been busy lately & last weekend we were supposed to meet up, as we were out w/our own friends, but my friends ended up going home after partying, but we still wanted to hang out. BUT, I didn't want to drive that late at night by myself, near the downtown area or even walk by myself to the place where he was at. So..I called him back, explained it to him & he agreed it would be better to hang out a different day. Even after he knows I had to ditch him once before. But mentioned going out this coming wknd. So the next day, he wrote me this msg:"I trust you had a good weekend? I'm swamped this wk & wknd, suck-O, & I'm feeling kinda sick" I wrote back:"will you be at the capitol all weekend? well hopefully I can see ya on your bday or cinco de mayo. I hope you feel better =( I'd make ya some soup or something lol"
