Where should I book my hotel for my first-ever trip to Salt Lake City?

I live in Utah up in the Ogden area which is about 30 miles to Salt Lake City. To the best of my knowledge there is not really any hotels near the University of Utah. If i were you i would book it down town and ride trax up to rice Eccels there is a stop right outside the stadium. Trax will be open after the concert in fact they encourage people to ride it. If you drive up there you might have to park further away and pay to park. Trax does not cost very much to ride it. Here is a website for UTA which is our transportation system.
