What does a crochet pattern mean when there are parenthesis inside brackets? any help would be appreciated !?
Whenever you are reading a crochet or knitting pattern you are going to see instructions enclosed in asterisks (* *), double asterisks (** **), brackets, and parenthesis. This is part of learning to read patterns and a skill we all have to learn. Fortunately, if you've taken algebra in school along the way (even if you didn't get an A) it helps if you think about these as a math problem. Whatever symbol is on the outside is the entire repeat to be worked. Each set of symbols within it markes a secondary or tertiary (third) instruction within the overall repeat. So you have to read the whole repeat first, then translate any instruction that you don't understand. Then work from the innermost symbol, along with it's instructions for the number of times to repeat it, outwards, repeating the entire set of instructions as necessary in the pattern.
